What drives my art?

Much of my childhood was spent creating my own imaginary worlds with paper and pencil or found objects. As an adult I heard the story of how God loved all people and rescued them from death. I accepted God's love and salvation through Jesus. Following that life changing decision, my art and life priorities changed. Just like taking a light watercolor wash and brushing over an already painted area, my life is colored and covered by Jesus. This site shows some of my art. It expresses a joy and love for the world that God has given me in Jesus.

After graduating in 1990 with a degree in Graphic Design and Marketing, I worked for 4 years for a small printing company. I handled all the design and prepress for the company. Most of the work was done in 2 to 4 colors which forced my designs to based more on form than effects. My next job was with a national out-of-home and point-of-purchase printing company. Their clients are some of the best known brands in the world. During my many years there I helped to found a design division offering primarily point-of-purchase creative solutions. It was during this time that my art and design matured. My design was more strategic in thought and more polished in execution. Since that time I have focused more on meaningful art and design. The life and experiences of people have always been central in my art. Now, I try to capture aspect of cultures and my personal thoughts in reflection... but never stray from the fun of imagination.
